CHELTENHAM FINAL DAY

Here are my trends notes for the Triumph Hurdle (CH4 1.30)

Art Sleuth – No winner of this ran in a maiden hurdle last time, although the Mullins yard having a good Festival and won this in 2002.

Ebadiyan – Failed to win at least 50% of his hurdle runs, unlike 10 winners of this this.

Jumbo Rio – Excellent trends profile and won a similar kind of race last time that both Irish winners of this also landed beforehand in 1997 and 2002.

Just Rob – Absent longer than two months and no top two placing last time.

Lethal Weapon – Absent longer than two months but fits other trends, although eight winners of the Juvenile Hurdle he won last time in December lost at Cheltenham – three were placed in the Triumph.

Maidstone Mixture – Doesn’t fit the trends with poor form figures.

Master Of Arts – Only had the lone outing, unlike 10 winners of this that raced two to six times over timber, but fits all the other trends and last year’s winner also arrived via Doncaster.

Mourad – No top three outing last time when held by Jumbo Rio.

Reve De Sivola – Doesn’t fit trends with poor form figures.

Silk Drum – Excellent trends profile, and ability to sit handy a big bonus in this event.

Simarian – No top three outing last time and hasn’t won 50% of career outings over timber.

Starluck – Been absent longer than two months and yard would be the least distinguished to land this. Fits other trends, though, including last time win at Kempton, something shared by four winners of this.

Stow – Decent profile and yard having a good Festival, though was well held by Zaynar in January.

Tharawaat – Hasn’t won 50% of career outings over timber.

Trenchant – Good trends profile but form of previous two runs against Ainama and Torpichen was let down this week.

Tyrrells Wood – Only had the lone outing, unlike 10 winners of this that raced two to six times over timber.

Walkon – Excellent trends profile and won the Finesse Juvenile Hurdle last time over C&D which has thrown up two winners at Cheltenham. Was held by Zaynar in December, but 7lb better today and yard have won this twice in the last four years.

Zaynar – Excellent trends profile, yard won this in 1999 and has been on my Top of the Form list since beating two subsequent winners last time.

Trends top three: Zaynar – Walkon – Jumbo Rio
