PERFORMANCE RATINGS
GLADNESS STAKES – Mad About You 73
EASTER STAKES – Pure Poetry 64
(Fairyhouse ratings next week)
I have to admit Easter was difficult – having to leave my baby behind for a weekend break over in Cambridge.
Each hour I missed her staring at me, and there was a big hole on my lap where I usually play with her. But they say absence makes the heart grow fonder, and it was a great moment when I was finally re-united with my laptop – I even missed my daughter too!
As a result, I didn’t get too involved on the punting side but I will be this week at Newmarket (don't forget Wednesday's Silver Trophy Chase at Cheltenham on page 145 of the jumps book).
I’ll be attending on Thursday for the Craven Stakes (pages 21-26 of the new Flat book), when the Abernanat Stakes also takes place.
It will be nice to attend this year as I was in Outlook Towers at Canary Wharf last year, and went desperately close to winning the sprint with Assertive. If the forecast rain arrives this week, then Knot In Wood could be carrying my money after a third in the Cammidge Trophy – two third-placed runners from there gained compensation at Newmarket.
Anyway, I’ll be back later in the week with my trends notes for one of the Newmarket races.
TOP OF THE FORM
As predicted, another quiet week for the Top 20, as the jumps season makes way for the Flat, despite two winners emerging from the top two races – Sam Lord and Petrosian.
Here is a list of races currently hovering outside the Top 20, the majority of which have a rating below -2.

Chapoturgeon – 2 wins from 7 runs
13 March, Cheltenham, Triumph Hurdle won by Zaynar –

Hope everyone backed Niche Market in the Irish National. Winner of the Silver Cup Handicap Chase at Ascot on December 20 with an above average PR. Page 52 of the jumps book. I did!
Well done again Julio, you're certainly the man for big odds, did anyone else find the Irish National winner?
Best - David
I got 45-1 on Betfair so not too bad. Big odds again but there's a fair amount of losers in there as well!
