2.30 Wolverhampton, Waterside
2.30 Wolverhampton, Wizard Looking
2.45 Lingfield, Carmenero
3.30 Wolverhampton, Pipers Piping
4.30 Wolverhampton, Global Village
ROYAL ASCOT - DAY FIVE
Good luck to all on the final day of Royal Ascot, there is plenty in the book to study, including two tough sprints. The Duke of Edinburgh Stakes is also another corking race, in which Crackentorp has a belting chance according to my in-form colleagues Tony Paley and Ron Cox at the Guardian.
Saturday 20 June Top of the Form qualifiers:
2.30 Ascot, Queens Hawk
2.30 Ascot, Fly Silca Fly
2.30 Ascot, Bikini Babe
2.40 Newmarket, Artistic License
3.50 Newmarket, Strictly
2.50 Redcar, Sorrento Moon
5.20 Redcar, Isitcozimcool
5.50 Lingfield, Top Tinker
7.35 Haydock, Mango Music
ROYAL ASCOT - DAY FOUR
I'm limited on time again unfortunatley as I'm in at the Guardian today, but here are Friday's Top 20 qualifiers from Top of the Form:
2.10 Redcar, Cassidy K
2.30 Ascot, Falling Angel
3.15 Redcar, Mccormack
3.30 Musselburgh, Ask Dan
3.30 Musselburgh, Minturno
5.40 Redcar, What A Fella
8.50 Ayr, Imprimis Tagula
ROYAL ASCOT - DAY THREE
Not much time today with my cold slowing things down.
However, I've been entering an in-house competition at the Guardian all week, so can pass on my Thursday tips.
A word of warning, though, as I've opted for value in these tips in order to try and make a decent level stake profit that is required to win it.
The person currently in the lead goes for the outsider in every race and has already nailed a 33-1 shot - he had a 66-1 shot at Cheltenham but still managed to lose the comp!
2.30 Kingdom Of Light
3.05 July Jasmine
3.45 Veracity
4.20 Magaling
4.55 Four Winds
5.30 Highland Glen
A welcome few winners for Top of the Form yesterday, but more consistency needed me thinks. Anyway, here are Thursday's qualifiers:
5.30 Ascot, Kimberley Downs
5.40 Ripon, Byron Bay
7.20 Fffos Las, In The Frame
8.50 Fffos Las, Free Gift
ROYAL ASCOT - DAY TWO
OK, things are getting embarrassing now. Could the Top 20 be in any worse form? At this rate my column is in danger of being renamed Top of the Lays!
The trends for the Ascot Stakes were a kick down below too, as none of my short-list even made the top four. All of this partnered with the fact my wife and I are run down with stinking colds and have been stuck in bed watching the Beeb’s Ascot coverage. So much for our summer plans of ice creams and strawberries in the garden…more like Lemsip!
However, as the Labour party promised us back in the nineties: “Things can only get better”…please!
The prospect of producing trends ratings for the 31-runner Royal Hunt Cup didn’t appeal in my current state, so I’ve selected the Prince of Wales’s Stakes.
I’ve awarded points for the following trends:
Four or five-year-old = 2pts
Top three last time = 2pts
Returned 9/1 or shorter = 2pts
Won a Group 1 = 2pts
Won over 1m2f = 1pt
Arrived via Ireland, abroad or Epsom = 1pt
Estejo = 6
Never On Sunday = 10
Tartan Bearer = 7
Tazeez = 4
Trincot = 6
Twice Over = 7
Virtual = 6
Vision D’Etat = 8
Top two rated: Never On Sunday – Vision D’Etat
TOP OF THE FORM
Despite an ugly 14-1 winner on Monday for the Top 20 qualifiers, the consistency that had been flowing in previous weeks has been amiss since Saturday week – where have those 20-1 placed runners gone?
Maybe I overestimated the current Top 20 a few weeks ago that looked a strong one, if so, then there is plenty of new blood in this week’s updated chart to give things a freshen up.
Wednesday 17 June Top 20 qualifiers:
2.55 Hamilton, Imperial Angel
2.55 Hamilton, Royal Society
2.55 Hamilton, Street Spirit
4.00 Worcester, Free Gift
5.50 Hamilton, Piverina
6.50 Ripon, Bold Account

Is the windsor forest stakes in the book, i can't dind it ?
The Windsor Forest Stakes was only run for the first time in 2004, so the trends are still maturing.
David, Have been backing with you over past couple of weeks. Certainly paid dividends today, with excellent returns on Free gift and Pirvina. Keep up the good work. Thanks again. Danny
Hi David,
Hope your feeling better yesterdays two winners should have helped !! Whilst the winners / placed horses had dried up until yesterday a number of the horses listed Monday / Tuesday are with a bit of research not backable. From memory two were a long way last and one was pulled up in the Top 20races so the results are appearing somewhat worse than they should.
Some of the horses listed each day have also got the race into the Top 20 chart by having won already and I think it questionable at times wether they should continue to be followed. I think generally we're looking for the one's that haven't won and represent better value. I would also question dropping horses from the list after two runs ( I don't) and a couple of decent winners have come recently ( Flying Applause 20 into 13/2 Rocket Rob 8/1. Macs Power 5/1last night having been drawn badly last two runs.
The Catyerers 6/1 and Miss Mujana 12/1 both came out of Trafalgar Squares race that headed the chart for some time and were only running for the 3rd/ 2nd time since that race.
I follow a lot of horses and use your system plus a few add ons and whilst results might have been bad recently by broadening the time horses are followed and being a bit selective in which horses from the list to back I seem to be keeping my head above water after what appears a bad run. I've also failed to find a winner at Ascot so far this week !!
Following the horses the way I do is very time consuming but I've got the time at the moment !
Keep up the good work and here's hoping top of the form produces some more winners and we can get them lined up in a Yankee/ Heinz for a life changing win !!
All the best
Rob
