Anyone know somebody that backed the Chester Cup winner? I’m still looking.
Bulwark was certainly a difficult one to nail and went against the trends, as did several other Chester winners this week, including Tajaaweed from an outside box in the Dee Stakes. There were a few winners that fit the trends, however, like Sail and Macarthur so it wasn’t all gloom at the Roodee – I actually broke even over the week, but there’s still the weekend to come!
Ascot and Lingfield take centre stage on the Flat this Saturday, while Haydock flies the flag over the sticks. Those who follow my Top of the Form column in the Racing and Football Outlook may have spotted Katies Tuitor and Minus Fifteen at Haydock where both hold chances. There is also an interesting runner in the finale at Ascot where Hue, who was third to dual subsequent winner Grizebeck, is entitled to go well despite rising in class.
Short and sweet today as I’m just logging off at The Guardian for the weekend – it’s been a hectic week – but I’ll be posting the performance ratings early next week along with further reviews/previews.
Hopefully I’ll get a chance to do a preview of one of the big races like I did for the Sagaro Stakes at Ascot a few weeks ago.
Good luck to all punting at the weekend.
