More race-date changes with apologies!

In addition to the Scottish Sprint (page 80 of the book) being switched to York (very Scottish!) on Saturday May 31, the John Of Gaunt Stakes (page 81 of the book) will now be run at Haydock on the same day under the title of the J.W.Lees Stakes (retains its registered title). The Sandy Lane Stakes, which was due to be run last week (page 60), also features at Haydock, so in a nutshell, the three races this Saturday to be found (somewhere!) in the book are:
Scottish Sprint - John Of Gaunt Stakes - Sandy Lane Stakes.

Don't you just love all these date and race title changes - I have to try and get them right for the book six months in advance - here's hoping they don't switch the Derby at the last minute to the end of August!

Apologies also for the two Gosden horses I mentioned here of late that both finished third - Prohibit and Virtual.
I'm not one to follow horses over a cliff, but both deserve another chance in handicap company on more suitable ground, as the former looked ill at ease on firm at Newmarket (hung left), while Virtual seemed unsuited on the softest he'd experienced at Sandown last night.

Also, a quick note about Jedediah, who I mentioned yesterday. Timeform had this to say about him after last Saturday's unlucky run at Haydock:
"JEDEDIAH looks to be coming to hand, and certain to stay 10f, is one to look out for upped in trip, doing well here considering he twice met significant trouble in the closing stages, his rider not overly hard on him after the second occasion, clear of the remainder; the Epsom Downs Stakes on Derby Day an ideal objective."

Good luck punting at the weekend.

Raceform Interactive notebook, highly noted, comment for Jedediah from the race at York :-

"was highly tried towards the end of his two year old career and could make no impression off a mark of 98 behind Commander Cave on his reappearance. This was better, the 40/1 shot looking rather unlucky not to finish a lot closer having been denied a clear run on more than one occasion, and he could soon become of interest."

so it seems others have it pencilled in for better things

thanks for the book David, and keep the Blog going with the PR updates
