Now what was it called again…oh yeah, good to firm ground!
Will it emerge again this summer or is soft ground all the way to the November Handicap? Here’s hoping the final three days of the York Ebor meeting go ahead as the first day has been abandoned.

It’s a quiet time for me on here at present as I need an extra pair of hands with my workload, but I will be posting the Top Of The Form entries for this week on here tomorrow, some of which haven’t been running too well. There were several winners from the Top 20 last week, but the short-listed runners from here have run below-par.

Some races, frustratingly, have to be left out of the Top 20 too, as the top-half of the field all appear since the race takes place, which is one of the guidelines I use to create space in the chart for new entries. Such a race is one from Kempton over 1m3f on July 24, won by Fair Gale. Three of the top four have subsequently scored, including Broken Moon at Yarmouth on Monday night. That event would’ve been out of date by Tuesday in the RFO so was therefore omitted – annoying!

Anyone who’s fed up with hearing about Orpsie Boy, I suggest clicking on another of your ‘my favourtites’ at the toolbar now, but those of you willing to see out the journey, read on. In last week’s Raceform Update, another favourable mention was given to Orpsie Boy who is burning up the gallops at Newmarket. Nick Littmoden was quoted as saying that the rain, along with the watering on the Friday of Glorious Goodwood went against him.
I don’t know what route he’ll go, possibly another Portland - although that could be a touch sharp – but he needs the sun to start shining. I get the feeling that if the soft ground continues connections might lose patience and run him on the All Weather.

An entry in the Ayr Gold Cup along with an Indian summer would make things interesting!

Anyway, for now, good luck to all punting in the wet stuff this week.
