Updated ratings and Top Of the Form

Last week's performance ratings from the book

SOLARIO STAKES - Sri Putra 67

MOYGLARE STUD STAKES – Again 67

After five solid months of writing the new book, it is finally deadline week for Racing Trends Revealed 2008/09 ‘The road to Cheltenham’. Four of the next five days will be spent proofing and checking the 145 races included in the edition, some of which surprised me regarding their subsequent results at the Cheltenham Festival. Ten points awarded to anyone who knows the last winner of the Grade 2 Wayward Lad Novices’ Chase at Kempton over Christmas to follow up at that season’s Festival?

It was a cracking week for Top Of The Form last week, with winners emerging from the Top 20 at 66-1, 8-1, 15-2, 7-1 and 4-1. As mentioned here before, some of those came from the bottom half of the field that weren’t obvious, but as someone stated in a letter to the Racing and Football Outlook a few weeks back, the rewards are there for those with time to check the entries. There were also a few much needed winners from the list of eyecatching runners mentioned on here, including Diriculous (2-1), Go Go Green (4-1) and Many Welcomes (12-1).

Here is the updated list, bar the new entries from this week that I haven't had time to add, but they can be found in my copy of this week's RFO.
I’ll hopefully be able to include their entries in a few weeks time when I get more time after the book is completed.

Bulwark - Queen Alexandra form not bad and consistent in a visor until last week at Goodwood, but not his track with form figures of: 000

Doughnut – Weatherbys Super Sprit working out well, especially those from the lower-half of the field that are given reasonable targets next time.

Fallen In Love – Fifth in Sweet Solera is looking good after Rainbow View’s and the third-placed victory.

Head Down - Excellent second to Rose Diamond and could win a nursery.

Honolulu - Form of Queen Alexandra is decent and may have not handled Goodwood.

Kyrie Eleison - Form of last win worked out especially well.

Mullglen - Weatherbys Super Sprit working out well, especially those from the lower-half of the field that are given reasonable targets next time.

Navajo Joe - Form of maiden win is fair and deserves another chance on good or softer, or AW, after finishing last on firm at Ascot.

Opera Prince - Superb fourth at Goodwood in one of the hottest races of the season. Step back to 7f will suit, but been absent since – will it ever reappear!

Pan The Man - Career best when second to subsequent-winning William The Butler, and should pick up a race possibly dropped to a Class 4 – outclassed in Listed last time.

Pay Time – Fifth at Carlisle not bad and ready to go well on fast ground possibly at big price.

Play Up Pompey – Kept on well at Lingfield early August, on a nice mark and has won three times over 1m2f at Lingfield.

Prospect Court - Sixth to Angus Newz was good form and is one to store away possibly for the autumn as he loves the mud and has slipped to a winning mark.

Sampower Rose - Finished thereabouts in fair Catterick maiden and capable of taking a lowly Class 5/6 maiden.

Sundowner - Second to Resplendent Light back in June suggests he is on a fair mark judging the winner's subsequent win. Not been out since but yard doing better now.

The Good Guy - Placed effort at Uttoxeter decent form.

Total Gallery - Beverley form worked out and possibly drawn too near the stands' rail at Goodwood as the race developed down the centre.

Weatherstaff – Won an Ayr maiden in which the third and fourth both scored since, and has some Group entries.
