Breaktime

Here are the previous week’s performance ratings from the book:

DUKE OF YORK STAKES
Assertive 75

MUSIDORA STAKES
Lush Lashes 72

DANTE STAKES
Tartan Bearer 80

HAMBLETON STAKES
Mia’s Boy 71

MIDDLETON STAKES
Promising Lead 72

YORKSHIRE CUP
Geordieland 76

ASTON PARK STAKES
Tranquil Tiger 80

LOCKINGE STAKES
Creachadoir 77

LONDON GOLD CUP
Strategic Mission 56

Sir Michael Stoute is sitting pretty in the Derby after Tartan Bearer’s above-par victory in the Dante, though I’m still happy with my 14-1 about Tajaaweed after the Dee Stakes. There is reportedly still confusion as to who is the best colt at home, but both should do well at Epsom.

I mentioned in my Top Of The Form column this Tuesday that I will be reflecting on some of the horses I mentioned as ones to watch from the Top 20 along with their entries for this week.
The column has had its share of winners highlighted for an overall level stakes profit, including Massini Sunset (7-2), Dorn Dancer (4-1), Pettifour (14-1), Extra Bold (9-2), Carlitos Spirit (11-2) and Orion D’Oudairies (6-4) – hopefully there will be plenty more to come throughout the summer.

This list is a combination of those that may have already run since and lost but are worth sticking with, along with those yet to have raced after catching the eye.

Choose Your Moment
Faraway Sound (Friday)
Lake Chini
Looter
Minus Fifteen
Misdaqeya (Friday)
Otaared
Ready To Crown
Virtual (Saturday)
*Top Seed (entered on Tuesday May 27)

Minus Fifteen ran a stinker when tipped at Haydock, but is reportedly a bull of a horse that sweated up badly after a break. Ready To Crown travelled like the winner when hitting the front at Bath last week, but was a sitting duck late on before keeping on and may get further.
A few others have run poorly when tipped that I won't be following anymore, including Wise Owl, who raced very lazily at Aintree on Friday, and Katie's Tuitor, who looked liked he'd had enough for the season in the Swinton.

I’ll be back later in the week for a weekend preview – enjoy the midweek trends break as there are a further dozen races from May 24-31.
