It's a grumpy return for me as I've been laid low with a bug for the last 48 hours - something I ate according to the doctor - so time has been limited regarding Newmarket previews/Top Of The Form etc. However, I climbed off my sick bed to do the performance ratings for when I was on holiday as follows:

Dave,
Glad that you're back and hope you feel better soon.
I am enjoying the new book and already it is a well-thumbed copy.
It is a good addition to your previous two Future Trends booklets that I purchased through Racing Ahead magazine a couple of years ago.
Some of the races there are not mentioned in the new book. One of these is the Maiden Stakes that was run at Salisbury last year and was won by Look Here. I duly followed the horse and had great pleasure in backing it to win The Oaks recently. I did it on the Tote with a win paying £56.80!
I intend only to follow those winners from races with a profitable history if they have an above average PR for the race. The book gave me my first winner at Sandown with Ancien Regime. I also did Visit, which was the one to follow from last years Princess Margaret. Visit just missed out so denying me a nice double, although I did both as win singles so a profit was had.
Lastly, can I mention www.easyodds.com They offer a Horse Alert facility. You register, add your horses to follow to your own stable and if one of your horses is running you receive an e-mail on the morning of the race telling you where and when it is running. Saturday and Sunday meetings are send out late on Friday. This service is free and makes sure you never miss another runner. Also, if you have Sky, go to AttheRaces (ch 415) and use the text service. The A-Z of runners for the following day for Britain and Ireland is shown here.
All the best.
Julio,
Glad to hear you've made a few quid via the trends books.
Some of the races from the Future Trends were unable to be included in the latest book as they were maidens etc, and not prestige events, which is what Racing Trends Revealed concentrated on.
However, I have exciting long-term plans for Racing Trends Revealed - including a jumps version in October - that will see the content and amount of races increase each year, plus I am hoping to cover the 'lesser' races in a separate feature - so stay tuned.
Best, David
