Amazing stuff this spare time!
Since Operation Racing Trends Revealed Jumps 2008/09 has been completed, I've done things like sit in the park, cut the grass (which was like a jungle), and importantly clear out my office for the nursery.
A strange feeling clearing out my office, dismantling my faithful desk for the dump, the same desk that has supported me through two books. But it's all for a good reason - bambino will be here soon. Until the propery market improves and we move in a few years time to reclaim my office, my workspace is now a laptop split between the bed and kitchen table!
But I have had time to look at Friday's racing at Ayr and have decided to try and scoop the Silver Cup with just the four bets! My mud-loving army against the field are:
Burning Incense - Harrison George - He's A Humbug - Against The Grain.
My editor at the Guardian is also a big fan of Ask The Butler, who runs at Newbury on Saturday, and won't hear of defeat about him.
I'll be back next week with some more blogging...good luck.
