I've backed Prince Kalamoun at 33-1 with Stan James on Thursday Sep 25, plenty of 25-1 still available.
As stated in the book on page 193, those that run well in the Newbury trial have a good record, including stablemate Formal Decree two year's ago.
Stakes are refunded by bookmakers - but do check with yours - if he doesn't make the cut and he handles most ground, so just a middle to high draw is required.
It's been place city for Top Of The Form so far this week, and I backed both Imperial Sword (got 10/1) and Avontuur (7/1) when second and third at Redcar on Wednesday. Both looked destined to fill the top two places before getting nailed late by a 22/1 shot!
Pan The Man could only manage third on Thursday as well, so a small part of the Ayr winnings from Against The Grain have been handed back, but I'm hoping to hit back at Ascot on Saturday, especially in the big 7f handicap where the trends from the book are fairly strong.
I'm making my debut at Great Leighs on Saturday night where Orpsie Boy runs. He's been handed a trappy wide high draw though in a hot race, so I'm not sure if I'll be getting involved yet. I've just looked up the top three finishing draw positions in sprints at Great Leighs in Timeform Perspective going back to the start of September which read as:
9-13-4 (11 ran) 6f
14-7-13 (13) 6f
12-7-4 (10) 6f
4-6-3 (12) 6f
1-7-5 (11) 5f
10-3-7 (11) 6f
1-2-7 (14) 5f
4-3-7 (13) 6f
5-4-11 (16) 6f
1-5-9 (12) 5f
Interesting to note, though, stall 1 in 5f sprints.
As ever, good luck to all punting, and I'll be around twice next week.
