Not much to report from me as I count down the days/hours to my wife going into labour.
We are both growing impatient for the sprog to appear, so I'd thought we'd go and see the latest instalment of Saw at the cinema on Saturday. This is a horror film for those wondering, not that I'm especially into that kind of thing, but my friend in America pointed me towards the first instalment and I need to see how it ends!
Hopefully the ending may shock my wife into labour - that's the theory anyway!
As for Orpsie Boy, he would've had a major chance at Doncaster today with fast ground, but I'm not sure of the exact going with overnight rain. He'll enjoy going back up to 6f in a big field after flying late over 5f against Listed rivals last time, and should be a decent price.
My approach will be to check the race times throughout Friday to gauge the state of the ground and will back him if it's good or faster. I won't be backing him on good to soft or worse though.
The Breeders' Cup will be worth viewing on Saturday evening, and hopefully the trends for that meeting will be in the 2010 third Flat edition when I include International events.
I've mentioned before that the Racing Trends Revealed project is a long-term one, with improvements and introductions to come in both the Flat and jumps book, along with the website. More on that in the months to come, in the meantime I hope the remaining four races in the current Flat book find a few winners before the switch to the National Hunt season.
I'll be back early next week with updates and possible baby news if the film has its desired effect!
